Frequently asked questions
Everything serious athletes ask before joining CoachUpFit — from how remote coaching works to what Garmin data you need and what results to expect.
How coaching works
How does remote running coaching work at CoachUpFit?
CoachUpFit is a fully remote coaching service. Your coach (Ramon, 12+ years, Exercise Physiologist) reviews your Garmin and Strava data each week, builds a personalised training plan, and adjusts it based on your recovery, load trends, and race calendar. Communication happens via the coaching platform — no fixed call times required.
Do I need a Garmin device or Strava account to be coached?
Yes — Garmin or Strava integration is central to how CoachUpFit works. Your coach uses real physiological data (HRV, Body Battery, training load, aerobic decoupling) to make precise decisions about your plan. A Garmin watch with HRV and heart rate data delivers the most detailed coaching signal, but a Strava account alone provides enough for the foundational coaching layer.
How often is my training plan updated?
Plans are reviewed and updated weekly based on the previous week's data. If recovery metrics (HRV, Body Battery) or performance signals suggest a change mid-week, your coach adjusts sessions proactively. Elite plan athletes receive more frequent real-time adjustments than Premium plan athletes.
What happens if I miss a session or my schedule changes unexpectedly?
Life happens. Your coach monitors your training log and adapts the week when sessions are missed. You do not need to manually re-plan — the coach redistributes load intelligently based on what remains in the week and your current recovery state.
How do I communicate with my coach?
Through the CoachUpFit coaching platform — asynchronous messages, session notes, and weekly summaries. This means you get thoughtful, data-informed responses rather than quick reactive replies. Most athletes find that structured async communication is more useful than live calls for ongoing training feedback.
Results and expectations
How long before I see measurable results from data-driven coaching?
Most athletes notice improved session quality and recovery within 2–4 weeks as the plan is calibrated to their actual physiology. Measurable performance gains — faster pace at the same heart rate, improved aerobic decoupling, race PR — typically emerge at 6–10 weeks. Consistent coached athletes over 16+ weeks show the strongest compounding gains.
What results do CoachUpFit athletes typically achieve?
Outcomes vary by starting point and goals, but common results include: 5–12% improvement in running economy (pace at a given heart rate), consistent PRs at target distances, significantly reduced injury rates compared to self-coached periods, and the ability to handle higher training load with better recovery. Athletes with Garmin integration see these gains measurable in their own data.
Is CoachUpFit for beginners or only experienced runners?
CoachUpFit is designed for serious athletes — runners, cyclists, and triathletes who already train consistently and want a structured, data-driven approach to improve. You do not need to be elite, but you should be comfortable with a training device and motivated to use data as part of your process. Complete beginners may not yet have the baseline data needed to make real-time coaching adjustments meaningful.
How is CoachUpFit different from a generic training plan or app?
A generic plan gives you sessions to execute. CoachUpFit coaching adjusts those sessions every week based on what your body actually did — HRV, recovery, load trends, cardiac drift, sleep quality. The plan reacts to you rather than you reacting to the plan. Over a 16-week training block, this responsiveness compounds into significantly better preparation and fewer wasted training weeks.
Getting started
Why is CoachUpFit invitation-only?
Data-driven coaching requires genuine coach bandwidth per athlete. CoachUpFit is deliberately kept small so every athlete receives high-quality, personalised attention rather than generic feedback. Invitation-only means your coach can actually monitor and respond to your data — not just send a templated plan.
How do I apply for a coaching spot?
Submit a request via the invitation page on coachupfit.com. Your application is reviewed based on training background, device compatibility, and available coaching capacity. Accepted athletes receive an invitation to set up their account and begin the onboarding process.
What sports and race distances does CoachUpFit support?
CoachUpFit supports running (5K to ultramarathon), cycling, and triathlon. The coaching framework scales from short-course racing to full Ironman distance. The Garmin and Strava integration works across all these disciplines — power data for cycling, multi-sport tracking for triathlon, and running dynamics for foot-based events.
What equipment do I need to get the most from coaching?
Minimum: a GPS running watch with heart rate (any Garmin Forerunner or Fenix series, or equivalent) and a Strava account. For the most detailed coaching layer: a Garmin with Running Dynamics (HRM-Pro or HRM-Run chest strap adds cadence, ground contact time, vertical oscillation) and a Garmin Connect account synced to CoachUpFit.
Plans and pricing
What is the difference between the Elite and Premium plans?
Premium (€149/mo) provides weekly plan delivery, weekly data review, and asynchronous coaching feedback. Elite (€249/mo) adds more frequent mid-week plan adjustments, deeper real-time data analysis, priority response, and race-week tactical support. Athletes with A-race goals or heavy training loads typically benefit most from Elite.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade between Elite and Premium at any time. Proration is applied automatically — you only pay for what you use.
What happens after the free trial ends?
Your plan converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial expiration date. You will receive a reminder before the trial ends.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. New subscriptions include a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied within the first 30 days, contact support for a full refund.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards are accepted via Stripe. Payments are processed securely — CoachUpFit never stores your card details.
